The Mariemont High School athletic hall of fame will have five new members inducted this month.

Mariemont athletic director Tom Nerl released the new members of the Doc Kusel Athletic Hall of Fame who will be inducted on Aug. 30 at halftime of the Norwood at Mariemont football game.

Michael Miller (Mariemont class of 2007), Drake Peterson (2008), Erica Franke Whittenburg (2008), Danny Renner (2014) and Leah Dupre (2016) were chosen for induction.

Miller was a football and lacrosse star who lettered four times in football where he was named to all-conference and city lists. He was twice all-state in lacrosse. Peterson was also a member of the football and lacrosse teams, winning a lacrosse state championship and graduating as the leading scorer in Mariemont's lacrosse history.

Franke Whittenburg had success in volleyball, basketball and track, including a state qualification with a 4x400-meter relay. Renner lettered in football, basketball and baseball, netting conference and district honors and an all-state honorable mention as a senior. Dupre won a state championship in the 100-breast with runner-up finishes in a pair of relays.

Contact Nerl at tnerl@mariemontschools.org for information and tickets for the induction dinner.
