The Cincinnati Reds (53-57) are set to take on the San Francisco Giants (55-57) on Sunday at Great American Ballpark. In the hours leading up to the pivotal tilt, the ballclub announced a roster move.

Will Benson was placed on the Paternity List on Sunday to welcome the birth of his second child. Benson has been struggling a bit at the plate this year, batting .194/.277/.396 on the year. However, most of that is weighed down by a rough June. He is one of the leaders of the club and has turned into a fan favorite with his spirited play and legendary bat flips.

In the corresponding move, the Reds brought up newly acquired outfielder, Joey Wiemer . Wiemer has only played 19 games at the MLB level this year and he struggled. Last year, however, he hit .204/.283/.362 with the Brewers. In Triple-A, he has yet to register a hit with Louisville (in only two games). In the 53 games before that with Triple-A Nashville, Wiemer was hitting .242/.387/.358 with 21 RBIs and 43 walks.

The University of Cincinnati product showed flashes with the Brewers last year, including a pair of home runs against the Reds last year. He's a great defender with seven Outs Above Average and 11 Fielding Run Value according to BaseballSavant . The latter was 17th-best among all position players in baseball last season.

You can catch the game as part of the MLB Sunday Leadoff on Roku. Don't worry, it's free and you can download and watch on any smart device. If the Reds vs Tampa Bay Rays broadcast was any indication, it's not a step down from the normal broadcast.
