The Cincinnati Bengals will be getting a player they acquired this offseason along the offensive line back at practice this week.

The team activated Trent Brown off the active/non-football injury list over the weekend and are set to get the tackle onto the practice field. Brown missed a large portion of the offseason program but would return to the team and state that his absence was due to a family matter prior to the start of camp, but once camp began he was still off the field.

During his first press conference of training camp, head coach Zac Taylor explained why Brown was on the NFI list and downplayed any kind of severity.

"He had some tightness. Just trying to be smart, especially with some of these veteran guys," Taylor said , adding that he wanted to let Brown ease into things after just getting to the building late in the offseason. "Give him a chance to get with the trainer. Who knows how many days, it could be a couple days and see where he is at."

Taylor went on at the time to explain that he wasn't particularly concerned on account of the fact that Brown is a veteran and team won't be surprised with the ability he brings.

"With him and several other veterans, we kind of know what we've got from an ability standpoint, now it's just managing these guys during training camp. So we want to make the smart decision with him and ease him into this," he said.

The Bengals will now for the first time get to see the 6 foot 8 Brown get on the field and help protect franchise quarterback Joe Burrow .
