Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach Reveals Team's Mentality Headed into 2024

The Cincinnati Bengals are not focused on anyone but themselves.

At least that's what head coach Zac Taylor says. Despite the fact that the rival Kansas City Chiefs have won the last two Super Bowls including an AFC Championship victory over Cincinnati in 2022, the team's motivations lie from within.

Taylor was asked by Kay Adams of Up and Adams if trying to keep Kansas City from a historic third consecutive Super Bowl would be something that motivates the locker room. And whether you believe him or not, in typical coach speak fashion he said that the team's focus is on their own locker room.

"It's about us. And what we control, it starts with our division," Taylor said . "We've got a tough division that garners a lot of respect from the entire world. Our focus is on getting through our division on top. And that creates the best path to see who you're gonna see in the playoffs where you want to see them. So it starts with that and we just need to focus on ourselves, we don't need to be worried about Kansas City or any of the divisional teams or anything like that. I think our team understands that because they've been to the top...they know what it's like to get to the championship and the Super Bowl, so they know it doesn't do us a lot of good to talk about everybody else. Let's just focus on ourselves and that's the best path."

It's a phenomenal mindset from Taylor and the locker room and one that certainly requires a lot of discipline to stick to. The team is focused on themselves and what it will take to be good enough to get back to where they want to be rather than focus
