Region VI wrestling tournament could land in Hoisington
Coach Nathan Broeckelman continues his rebuild of the wrestling team at Barton Community College. With a little luck, the Cougar wrestlers will stay close to home for postseason action next season. During Monday's USD 431 Board of Education meeting, Hoisington Superintendent Patrick Crowdis said Pratt Community College is interested in hosting the Region VI tournament at the Activity Center on Feb. 15, 2025.
KDOT’s Safe Routes to School Announces Grant Recipients
The Kansas Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School Program announces six Kansas communities received the 2024-2025 Planning and Programming (P&P) grants. These grants will fund SRTS plans covering a total of eight schools in Sedan, Riverton, Silver Lake, Wellsville, Wallace County Schools and Weskan Unified School District 242. Work on these plans will start in August, and final plans will be completed in April 2025.
