Finney’s is coming, really; ‘Free LSD’ in Claremont
It seems the historic building at 129 Harvard Avenue, formerly home to The Press, will remain vacant for the time being. The prime Village spot, which barring obstacles will be the 11th location of the Finney’s Crafthouse chain, has been sitting idle for several months with paper on the windows.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop to open two new locations in California, US
Fast-casual restaurant brand Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop has unveiled plans to open two new locations in the US state of California. The first, located in Murrieta at 40469 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, will open on 31 July 2024. The second, located in Ontario at 920 N Haven Ave, Ste. 150, is scheduled to open on 8 August 2024.

The Friends of the Claremont Library will host a half price book sale throughout the month of August at Claremont Helen Renwick Library, 208 N. Harvard Ave. Books, CDs, DVDs, audio books, tapes, and records occupying the burgundy shelves and nearby carts are eligible for the sale. Funds from the sale benefit the Friends.

Monrovia children's theater group has trailer with props stolen
A children's theater in Monrovia is working hard to make sure the show goes on, even after thieves took a trailer full of props used to put on a performance. The owners of Centre Stage Inc., a nonprofit school that teaches music, dance and theater, say that the truck and trailer parked in front of their home had been stolen when they woke up Tuesday morning.
