City of Chino Hills Installs New Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon on Boys Republic Drive
The City of Chino Hills has installed a new high-intensity activated crosswalk signal, also known as a pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB), at the crosswalk on Boys Republic Drive near Peyton Drive. The PHB provides pedestrians and motorists with an efficient and safer way to navigate the intersection from the Chino Hills Government Center to the sidewalk near St. Paul the Apostle Church. This is the first PHB in Chino Hills. The location was chosen due to the proximity of the intersection to Ruben S. Ayala High School, and the large volume of students who utilize this intersection and crosswalk not controlled by streetlights.

Supervisor Solis presents $2M grant to El Monte for interim housing
Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis on Wednesday awarded $2 million in grant funding for two interim housing sites in El Monte that aim to reduce homelessness. The funds from the First District Community Grants Program will allow the city to support operations and services at the Hilda Solis Iris House, formerly the Budget Inn at 10038 Valley Blvd., and the Hilda Solis Rose Court, formerly the M Motel at 10024 Valley Blvd.
Mobile Pet Vaccine and Microchip Clinic at Chino Hills Community Center August 16
The City of Chino Hills in partnership with the Inland Valley Humane Society (IVHS), will host a mobile vaccination and microchip clinic for dogs and cats on Friday, August 16 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm outdoors at the Chino Hills Community Center gazebo, located at 14250 Peyton Drive. Single vaccines will be offered at costs ranging from $10 to $18, as well as combination packages from $22 to $32, and microchipping for $30 per pet. No advance reservations are required.
