East Hangs on for Doubleheader Sweep of Eights
Sioux Falls East would get two wins on Tuesday sweeping Pierre Post 8 at Hyde Stadium with a 5-1 and 5-4 wins for their tenth straight South Dakota win. East would get a two RBI double from Kooper Perry in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead and added on in the third with a RBI single from Ryan Hirsch. The Eights would get its lone RBI from George Stalley, a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, but an extra two insurance runs would score in the seventh delivered by Ethan Olson. Pierre had just three hits in the game and had just two base runners in the first four innings. Miles Doyle would be tagged with the loss giving three runs, two earned, on seven hits, three walks and four strikeouts in five and 2/3 innings.

Cooper Bowman delivering big season for Midland Rockhounds
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) -Rapid City’s own Cooper Bowman is playing well for the Midland Rockhounds, who are the AA affiliate of the Oakland A’s. Bowman is hitting .259 this season with 8 home runs and 41 RBI. The second baseman was named the Texas League player of the month for May when he hit .350.
