Buffalo Animal Shelter hosting a reduced-fee adoption event this weekend
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The City of Buffalo Animal Shelter is holding a reduced-fee adoption event on Saturday. Fees are about $100 for dogs and $65 for cats, according to their Facebook post. It includes spay or neuter, vaccines, a bag of pet food, and a free first vet visit.
Owl trapped in manure lagoon is rescued
ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — A baby screech owl was rescued earlier this week in Cheektowaga after it left its home before it was ready. Now comes another owl rescue, which also happened in Erie County. An owl that was trapped in a manure lagoon was rescued with help from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Messinger Woods Wildlife Care and Education Center.

Yes, I can see the gears turning in your head going “I know the name Shelter, but I can’t remember from where.” Well, to remind you, Shelter is the Hare Krishna-based band from Youth of Today vocalist Ray Cappo that he started in the early ‘90s.
