Double Class breaks own track record at Buffalo Raceway

Todd, Nevins take home Porter Cup victories
LEWISTON, N.Y. — The 65th edition of the Porter Cup, one of the top amateur events in golf, is in the books at Niagara Falls Country Club. On the men's side, Chase Nevins of Great Falls, Va., finished the tournament at 11 under par to earn the victory. Nevins entered the final hole tied with Tonawanda native and Canisius University golfer Ryan Edholm, but Edholm made bogey while Nevins made par to take home the win.

Jackson Strong Named Canisius Male Athlete of the Year
Canisius baseball junior Jackson Strong has been chosen as the 2023-24 Canisius Male Athlete of the Year, the athletic department announced on Friday. Strong was selected after a fan vote on GoGriffs.com. The other nominees were Tom Appenheimer (cross country/track), Ryan Edholm (golf), Micah Hanson (men's lacrosse) and Frank Mitchell (men's basketball).

Gilmour girls lacrosse: Makenna Crouse to continue her career at Canisius
Makenna Crouse took a chance when she stepped onto the lacrosse field for Gilmour as a senior this past spring. But the New York native needed little time to turn heads. In her first game against West Geauga, she recorded five goals and created 19 ground balls. Crouse finished the season with 90 goals, 25 assists, 143 ground balls, 40 takeaways and 158 draw control wins.

The California Baptist volleyball team has unveiled its 2024 season schedule, featuring exciting matchups following a 14-14 record last year with a spot in the WAC Tournament.
