Second victim in New Boston shooting succumbs to injuries; another murder charge pending against suspect
NEW BOSTON, Texas (KSLA) - The second victim of an East Texas shooting is now dead less than two weeks after sustaining life-threatening injuries. On Saturday, July 6, two people were shot in the 300 block of North Lindsey Street in New Boston around 5:42 p.m. Both suffered multiple gunshots wounds. One victim died at the scene. The other victim, later identified as 19-year-old Nicholas Webster, was taken to an area hospital.

Man on the run for 30+ years finally sentenced for shooting in Ringgold
CLAIBORNE PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A Bienville Parish man who was on the run for more than 30 years after shooting someone in Ringgold has now been sentenced. Greg Lawson, who is now 64-years-old, was caught in Mexico by the FBI in September of 2023 after being on the run for 32 years. Back in 1991, Lawson shot Seth Garlington, who was 19 at the time, in Ringgold in an incident that started as a fist fight.

This Saturday brings the Shreveport Skate Bash to Caddo Common Park in downtown Shreveport, put on by Nionea Anderson with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). Starting at 6 pm on Saturday, July 20th, the community is invited to bust out their roller skates or skateboards to enjoy the local skate scene together.
