My office in Oriskany has a lot of pictures from the past. Since I also function as the president of the alumni association, we have a lot of old school mementoes. The other day, I happened to be looking at a pic of the 1948 mixed chorus at OCS. There were about 48 of them. Those days are long gone. What was evident, though, was how well-dressed and “normal” looking those kids were. Nice white dresses on the girls and slacks, white shirt and ties on the boys. I miss those days. This was long before fast foods and soda pop began to erode our national visage.

Vernon, NY — Pink Chou Chou and driver Todd McCarthy captured the $108,200 New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Friday (July 26) at Vernon Downs. Pink Chou Chou ($3.90) went to the lead and was first to the quarter in :29. As they reached the backstretch, Royal Mission (Scott Zeron) took over the lead and controlled the half in :58.3 and three-quarters in 1:27.2. As they reached the stretch, Pink Chou Chou popped out of the two-hole and challenged for the lead. Pink Chou Chou wore down Royal Mission to get her first career victory in 1:56.0. Southeast Michigan native Freddie Crittenden to compete in 2024 Paris Olympics
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Freddie Crittenden was once the best hurdler in the state of Michigan when he was in high school in Utica. Now, he’s one of the best in the world.
