    Armed man arrested after SWAT engaged in standoff at NJ home

    CLARK, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 79-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday after he apparently barricaded himself inside his New Jersey home with a weapon, authorities said.

    At approximately 12:31 a.m., officers repsonded to reports of shots fire at a home located at 9 Stanton St. in Clark.

    Upon arrival, police discovered a barricaded person with a weapon prompting officers notified the Union County special weapon and tactics unit to respond.

    A short while later, officers entered and successfully placed the barricaded person later identified as Kenneth Kutyla in custody.

    Kutyla was placed under arrest and charges are currently pending.

    An investigation remains ongoing.
