CLARK, NJ — TAPinto Clark reported a few weeks back on the missing historic sundial over at the township's 17th century Dr. William Robinson Plantation Museum. Representatives of the museum have just announced that, while the sundial has not turned up, a new one was donated by an anonymous Good Samaritan, left on the very spot of the original.

Back around mid-June, museum workers noticed that their cherished sundial had been stolen.

Despite an announcement to the community, a plea for the sundial's return on the museum's message board, and a report filed with the local police department, the sundial has yet to turn up or be returned.

Still, the donation of the new sundial, delivered under the cover of night and inconspicuous obscurity, was a much appreciated surprise.

Only moments before informing the community of the generous gift on Facebook, a volunteer for the museum reached out to TAPinto Clark, writing, "Just wanted to let you know someone donated a sundial. [They] just left it in the original spot. There are still good people in this world."

    And indeed there are.
