County Stormwater Fee to Rise by almost $15 per Property, fees to repair and replace culverts
Starting this month, Athens-Clarke County residents may see an increase on one of their bills—the stormwater utility fee. On average, Athens-Clarke County property owners will see an increase of $14 on their stormwater utility fee, the first time this fee has risen since 2005. Collected fees are exclusively used on stormwater programs around the county, like replacing and repairing culverts. The stormwater utility fee applies to both taxable and tax-exempt properties.

ACCGov schedule and service changes for Independence Day
On Monday, July 1, Athens-Clarke County Government announced schedule and service changes for the upcoming Independence Day. The Animal Shelter/Adoption Center will be closed on Thursday, July 4. Additionally, Animal Services officers will not be available for non-emergency calls on July 4, with non-emergency service calls resuming on the following day. Animal bites, a seriously sick or injured animal, an animal trapped inside a living space of a home and other emergency services will be provided throughout the holiday by calling 911.
