MACON, Ga. (WGXA) — Macon Mayoral Candidate Shekita Maxwell was arrested Tuesday night for family violence and other charges. According to the arrest report, Maxwell was taken into custody Tuesday at 9:18 p.m. and is charged with one count each of simple assault and battery regarding family violence, one count of false imprisonment and one count of obstructing a person from making an emergency telephone call.

Toccoa Chief of Police Jimmy Mize just advised WNEG News that the second individual being sought in connection to the gunfire yesterday at Regency on W. Currahee Street has been identified as Veon Nicely, 23, of Toccoa. Felony warrants for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime have been issued for Nicely.
