    Abington Heights Girls Track: Comets exceeded century mark in points in each meet

    The Abington Heights girls track and field team did more than just extend the program’s incredible streaks.

    This season’s team began making a case for being one of the strongest in the history of the wildly successful program.

    While running streaks to 17 straight unbeaten, championship seasons in dual meet competition and 101 straight victories, the Comets went unchallenged.

    Abington Heights beat its four Lackawanna Track Conference Division 1 opponents by average of 122.7-24.3 and won its only non-league meet 102-48 over LTC Division 2 champion Wallenpaupack.

    A look back at how the Lady Comets rolled through each meet of their latest perfect season:

    Abington Heights 117 2/3, West Scranton 31 1/3

    Tomara Seid won the long jump, triple jump and pole vault April 29 when Abington Heights completed the perfect season, winning the division title outright.

    The Comets finished 4-0 in the division and 5-0 overall.

    Madison Zalewski won the high jump and pole vault.

    Abington Heights 131, Scranton Prep 9

    Abington Heights shut out host Scranton Prep on the track, winning all three relays and sweeping the top three places in all the individual events April 16 while pushing the streak to 100 straight wins.

    Calvert led the track effort with wins in the 100, 200 and 400 relay.

    Seid won the long jump, triple jump and pole vault.

    Marygrace Sabatini and Madison Zalewski each had one individual and one relay win.

    Abington Heights 121, Scranton 28

    Seid won her usual three events while Maggie Coleman, Pucilowski and Zalewski won two each in the April 11 meet.

    Coleman won the 100 and 200. Pucilowski took first in the 1600 and 3200; and Zalewski won the javelin and high jump.

    Abington Heights 121, Valley View 29

    Seid added to her own school record in the triple jump by leaping 36-10 against Valley View.

    Calvert and Zalewski each won twice and ran on a winning relay. Calvert ran the100 and 200. Zalewski won in the javelin and high jump.

    Anna Pucilowski won the 1600 and 3200 while Emma Horsley won the 800 and was part of two relay victories.

    Abington Heights 102, Wallenpaupack 48

    Abington Heights opened the season March 28 with a win in a crossover meet that is not part of the LTC standings.

    Madison Zalewski won the high jump, shot pot and javelin along with runner on a winning 400 relay team

    Seid won three events while Pucilowski and Calvert each won two individual events and a relay. Emma Horsley won the 800 and a ran a leg of the 3200 relay.
