DeKalb County is casting out a line to young anglers with an invitation to its Gateway to Fishing Program, a partnership between DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Cassandra Kirk is the first Chief Magistrate Judge of Fulton County appointed by Governor Nathan Deal. With over 30 years in legal roles, including as a jurist, administrator, prosecutor, defense attorney, and civil litigator, Kirk spearheaded the creation of the Juvenile Drug Court and Misdemeanor Mental Health Court, and transformed the Magistrate court, eliminating backlogs and enhancing accessibility.
