Did you know Powerhouse Gym was founded in Michigan? Brothers William and Norman Dabish opened the first Powerhouse Gym in Highland Park in 1974. At the time, the gym was nothing more than a place for people in the neighborhood to exercise. They promoted the gym as a place you could go for boxing, bodybuilding, karate, and kung fu.

Michigan lawmakers target how "flushable" wipes are marketed
(CBS DETROIT) - Michigan is at the forefront of a national push to police plumbing by passing a law that requires manufacturers of moistened wipes to place labels on their products warning "Do Not Flush.""It's sort of an uncomfortable topic to talk about," said Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller. Macomb county voters on Aug. 6 will vote on primary candidates for County Sheriff, County Clerk and Probate Judge. Budnick, a Hamtramck police officer from Macomb Township, supports enforcing laws against people preying on seniors and believes every school in Macomb County needs to have at least one armed officer on-site. He supports working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to turn over “illegal aliens” encountered in the county; recruiting and retaining sheriff’s office employees by boosting morale, restoring benefits and improving wages; and deploying more deputies to patrol neighborhoods and roads.
