North Webster Town Council Approves Right-Of-Way Vacation In NWCC Parking Lot
NORTH WEBSTER - In an expected move, the North Webster Town Council approved the vacation of a a public right-of-way in the parking lot of the North Webster Community Center. This paves the way, literally, for the building of outdoor pickleball and basketball courts in part of the parking lot behind the NWCC. The new athletic facilities are being funded through a $242,500 donation given to the NWCC by the Shoop Sports and Youth Foundation in memory of Jon Sroufe, who was active in both organizations and in the town of North Webster.
Kosciusko County Local Working Group Meeting
Kosciusko County Local Working Group meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 217 E. Bell Drive, Warsaw. WINONA LAKE – Winona Lake Fire Department Public Information Officer Mike Cox brought a letter-writing campaign to the Winona Lake Town Council’s attention Tuesday. Cox said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is looking to looking to adopt 30 or more of the National Fire Protection Association standards. Cox said the fire department understands the proposed regulations are meant to keep everyone safe, but he says they could end up closing volunteer fire departments.
