Administrative Assistant Celebrates 50 Years At Manchester University
NORTH MANCHESTER - Jill Biehl, administrative assistant for admissions, celebrated her 50th anniversary working at Manchester University on Monday, July 15. Biehl arrived at Manchester in 1974, after her sister, who already worked on campus, dropped her resume off in the admissions office. She has worked in MU admissions in various capacities ever since, according to a news release from Manchester University.
North Webster Town Council Approves Right-Of-Way Vacation In NWCC Parking Lot
NORTH WEBSTER - In an expected move, the North Webster Town Council approved the vacation of a a public right-of-way in the parking lot of the North Webster Community Center. This paves the way, literally, for the building of outdoor pickleball and basketball courts in part of the parking lot behind the NWCC. The new athletic facilities are being funded through a $242,500 donation given to the NWCC by the Shoop Sports and Youth Foundation in memory of Jon Sroufe, who was active in both organizations and in the town of North Webster.
Winona Lake Council Hears About Firefighter Campaign
WINONA LAKE – Winona Lake Fire Department Public Information Officer Mike Cox brought a letter-writing campaign to the Winona Lake Town Council’s attention Tuesday. Cox said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is looking to looking to adopt 30 or more of the National Fire Protection Association standards.
