Police: Employee Stole Money From Business
SMITHFIELD – An employee at a Smithfield business is accused of stealing money. Amy Lynn Ruggles of Dunn is charged with felony larceny by an employee. Smithfield Police said Ruggles was employed at US Cellular on N. Brightleaf Boulevard when the alleged thefts occurred. Between June 1 and July 11, Ruggles reportedly took cash payments from seven customers. Instead of placing the money in the register, she kept the cash. A total of $646.15 was stolen during the seven transactions, police said.
