CLAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Due to changes in the city’s budget, Clayton will no longer offer curbside leaf pickup to its residents.

The City of Clayton announced the end of their leaf collection services. Starting in fall of 2024, residents can no longer place unbagged leaves at the curb or in the roadway for pickup.

Despite the end of unbagged collection, there are still options available to remove leaves your yard.

Rumpke Services will collect bagged leaves from Oct. 1 through Dec. 15. Leaves need to be placed in standard plastic trash bags and placed at the curb on your designated trash collection day.

The city also shared three other ways to dispose of leaves:

    1. Mow the leaves into the lawn to recycle their nutrients into the soil.
    2. Collect and mulch fallen leaves.
    3. Use the leaves as compost material.
