CJ Givers made his very first visit to Clemson recently.

While the 2026 running back, out of Fellowship Christian (Roswell, GA), did not get to spend any time with running backs coach CJ Spiller due to him being on vacation, he did spend much of the day with support staffer Andrew Zow, and came away impressed with how much emphasis Dabo Swinney places on player development.

“Really liked it a lot, it was nice,” Givers told The Clemson Insider. “I was really impressed with the facilities, everything like that. And I can really tell that coach Swinney, like all the coaches up there, they really focus on player development a lot. I really like that about the program.”

The Tigers have yet to hand out any offers to a running back in the 2026 class, but Givers is certainly on the radar. Zow told him they would be keeping an eye on him as he goes through his junior season.

“They said they want to watch my first couple of games in the season, just kind of see how that works,” Givers said. “But they said they really like me a lot and just keep working.”

Givers goes to the same school as, and is friends with, 5-star offensive lineman Josh Petty, who was at one time one of Clemson’s top targets in the 2025 class.

“Josh goes my school and he was talking to me about it and said they don’t really offer many people,” Givers said. “They kind of pick and choose who they want to offer. They don’t want to throw random ones out there.”

Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, Indiana, Boston College and SMU have all offered the 5-foot-11, 195-pound back and those are the schools he has been hearing from the most in recent weeks.

Givers is already eyeing a return trip to Clemson in the fall for a game day visit and the hope is to add an offer from the Tigers at some point along the way.

“That would be huge,” Givers said. “One of the top ACC schools, getting an offer like that, I would be really excited about that. And I would have to seriously consider it.”
