Clemson Picks Up Another Portal Commitment

Erik Bakich continues to have success recruiting the portal.

Former California Baptist infielder Josh Paino announced a commitment to the Tigers on Sunday night.

Last season as a junior with the Lancers, Paino was named the WAC All-Defensive Player of the Year at shortstop. He hit .296 with 11 HR and 38 RBI with an OPS of .912.

In 2023 he started 52 games, hitting .270 with nine home runs and 38 RBI. He also added nine doubles and two triples while sporting an OBP of .340. He was named to the WAC All-Academic team.

Paino becomes the fourth portal addition for Clemson, joining outfielder Dominic Listi, infielder Collin Priest and catcher Luke Gaffney.
