Clemson pitcher Austin Gordon was drafted in the fourth round by the Angels on Monday.

Los Angeles selected him No. 110 overall, a pick that has a slot value of $662,900.

Gordon began the 2024 season in the starting rotation before moving to the bullpen and assuming the closer’s role. He would wind up winning the Stowe Award, given to the team’s most valuable pitcher.

The right-hander finished his junior season with a 2-2 record, 11 saves and a 4.35 ERA in 22 appearances (five starts). His 11 saves tied for third all-time in school history.

In 24.2 innings pitched over 17 relief appearances last season, he had a 2.19 ERA, .131 opponents’ batting average and 35 strikeouts against nine walks. He allowed only two of nine inherited baserunners to score.

As a sophomore in 2023, Gordon had a 2-4 record and 4.61 ERA in 16 starts. In 84.0 innings pitched, he allowed 77 hits (.243 opponents’ batting average) and 22 walks with 76 strikeouts.

During his three-year career, he was 5-6 with an ERA of 4.64. He struck out 160 hitters to just 49 walks in 151.1 innings pitched.
