CLEMSON- The acclimation period is over.

Clemson held its second practice of fall camp on Friday and the coaching staff now appears to be in midseason form.

    • This entire freshman class looks the part. It is readily apparent that each and everyone of those guys have been putting in work over the summer. Usually there are guys here and there that just resemble freshmen physically, not so much with this class.
    • Sammy Brown is sporting a brace on the left knee, but it does not appear to be slowing him down one bit. Brown shined in some of the individual drills, showing off the speed and agility that made him one of the best players in the 2024 recruiting class. He was working with the second team in the team drills.
    • Nolan Hauser had a better day kicking the ball on Thursday. The freshman was a perfect 5-for-5, hitting field goals from 27, 34 and 39 yards. He finished up the drill by hitting two from 43.
    • TJ Moore was working on the punt team, serving as a gunner in one of the special team drills.
    • Bryant Wesco was returning punts, but was way down in the rotation. He had two opportunities, fielding the first cleanly, before muffing the second.
    • David Eziomume was catching every ball thrown his way during one of the individual drills with the backs. He has really good hands and catches the ball out away from his body.
    • Chris Rumph lit into Darien Mayo after a rep in one of the pass rushing drills. Rumph was extremely unhappy with how Mayo finished one of his reps, insisting he run the drill again. Rumph was much more pleased with the second effort.
    • CJ Kubah-Taylor was getting praise for his ability to keep his eyes up and on the right things. He looks like he belongs out there.
    • Ricardo Jones showed off his hands in one of the drills, making a one-handed catch while sliding under one of the netted screens used in drills with the defensive backs. He provides a lot of athleticism on the backend of the defense.
    • Mike Reed was heard loudly reminding Tavoy Feagin that “this isn’t high school anymore,” during one of the drills with the corners.
    • Joe Wilkinson is another freshman that looks the part out there. He and Noah Dixon both were receiving positive feedback from Mickey Conn.
    • Ashton Hampton is an athletic freak. He was working with the corners today but his length and versatility will give the staff some flexibility in how they use him.
