The Purina factory team in Williamsburg Township recently delivered $40,000 in donations to two programs focused on the power of pets in greater Cincinnati. The donations were delivered through the Purina Trust Fund, recognizing community partners who work to positively impact Purina’s operating communities.

Purina made a $20,000 donation to Cincinnati Children’s to support the needs of the dogs that are part of its hospital facility dog program, called Canine Comfort. The six task-trained assistance dogs in the program provide support that helps patients reach clinical goals, provides outcome-based bedside play and offers bereavement support.

“We’re so grateful to receive support from Purina to bolster our Canine Comfort program even further,” said John Palinski, Director of Corporate and Community Philanthropy at Cincinnati Children’s. “If any organization could appreciate the positive impact pets can have on our lives, it’s an industry leader like Purina. It’s exciting to see their new factory come to life, and we’re lucky to have them joining our community, and already making a noticeable positive difference.”

Purina’s support of Canine Comfort is another way the pet care leader is harnessing the power of pets to address youth mental health. To learn more about those programs, visit purina.com/mentalhealth.

The local Purina team also delivered a $20,000 donation to Batavia Township to enhance the community’s dog park by adding water stations and more seating for pet owners. This is not the first time Purina has partnered with Batavia Township. In celebration of Earth Day last year, local Purina associates donated and planted 10 trees to add natural shade in the dog park.
