    ‘Leave it to professionals’: Leaders address 4th of July safety in Cleveland

    CLEVELAND (WJW) – Cleveland safety leaders spoke Monday about the city’s plans for a safe July 4 th holiday.

    The Cleveland Divisions of Police, Fire, EMS and the Cleveland Department of Public Safety had a press conference at the Emergency Operations Center in Cleveland at 11 a.m.

    During the press conference, leaders reiterated that it is illegal to set off fireworks in Cleveland. They reminded the community to “leave it to the professionals.”

    During the press conference, it was said that fireworks can cause not only injury but also fires and even emotional distress for some, including veterans, children and pets.

    Light up the Lake : 4 th of July Fireworks is scheduled for 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4.
