Browns RB Nick Chubb Looks Cartoonishly Strong Squatting Over 500 Pounds 8 Months After Knee Surgery

For somebody who suffered a career-threatening knee injury in college at Georgia, and basically exploded his knee last season in the NFL, Nick Chubb is looking like any other elite running back in his prime. He actually needed two operations to address his injuries, with the last occurring in mid-November . As his journey back to the field continues, Chubb released a video of his latest physics-defying session on the squat rack, where he had little trouble clearing 500-plus pounds. https://twitter.com/ESPNCleveland/status/1812867500683546751 The bar on his back is designed to flex as a means of holding the many plates on each side. It makes Chubb look even cooler because it almost doesn't seem real. That thing can barely support the weight it's specifically tailored to carry, yet Chubb is getting all the way down into a full squat, and managing to raise back up without destroying his back. The other 99.999% of us on Planet Earth would be hitting the chiropractor after this, or getting our own medical procedures to repair shredded knee ligaments. For as much grief as the Browns deservedly catch for employing the predatory
Deshaun Watson as their starting quarterback, Chubb is such a source of individual redemption for the perpetually dysfunctional organization. You almost never hear him talk to the media. Don't see a ton of workout videos. He's not on the gridiron mouthing off to opponents even after he makes big plays. Chubb just goes about his business in a blue-collar Midwestern sort of way that makes him such a good fit for Cleveland. Personally, I feel bad for Chubb that he was drafted to such a disaster of a franchise. At least they had the good sense to hang onto him instead of letting him flee to greener pastures. How do they reward him for his loyalty, though? By mortgaging the future and guaranteeing a sh*t ton of money to Deshaun Watson. Woof, Dawg Pound. Woof. Oh well. At least there's the encouraging trend of Chubb's progress for Browns fans to cling to. https://twitter.com/BrownsWithNoah/status/1806724970250166554 Whatever the circumstances have been in Cleveland, Chubb has kept showing up and showing out, averaging over 10 total touchdowns in his first five seasons. Sadly, his 2023 campaign was cut shot after only two games. It'll be awesome to see him back in action again from a pure football enjoyment standpoint. Just don't do enough to beat the Bengals, Nick.
