Browns' Deshaun Watson simply missing from offseason QB conversation

When the Cleveland Browns traded three first-round picks, two fourth-round picks, and a third-round pick for Deshaun Watson and coughed up a five-year deal worth $230 million, the idea was to get one of the game's best passers.

Two years and just 769 snaps later, Watson can't even get in offseason conversations.

The latest—and perhaps greatest—example? ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler just ranked the NFL's top 10 passers by conversing with league personnel such as executives, scouts and coaches.

Watson doesn't just miss the top 10—he doesn't land as an honorable mention, either.

That means 16 names, including the likes of honorable mentions such as Brock Purdy and Jordan Love, get a nod before Watson. And at this point, it's hard to blame those in the league for omitting Watson when the conversation isn't contracts, considering it was Joe Flacco who led the Browns to the playoffs last year.

Watson gets another chance to prove he should crack the top 16 and be a discussion point during the quietest stretch of the offseason, yes. But as the league continues to evolve, Watson will need to stay on the field to have a chance.
