Rookies report to Berea on July 22 and veterans on July 23 as the Cleveland Browns will begin training camp. It is just about time for the mark of the start of the 2024 NFL season to be here.

With training camp just a few days away, there will be multiple questions that need to be answered.

Will Deshaun Watson be a full go?

All signs point toward QB1 being a full go and healthy when training camp kicks off in Berea. The shoulder injury is in the last and both Cleveland and Watson are on the same page of Year 3 being the one where it all comes together.

Watson played in just six games in each of the first two seasons with the Browns and that just won’t cut it any longer. It is time for the Browns to get a return on the huge investment that they made in Watson.

After being a limited participant through OTAs, it will be interesting to see what kind of plan is in place for training camp with Watson. Jameis Winston, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and Tyler Huntley will all be ready to take snaps if needed as part of that plan.

Will Nick Chubb practice and when will a return happen?

A video surfaced the other day of the fan-favorite running back squatting some heavy weight and it appears that his recovery is going well and in the right direction. After blowing out his knee in Week 2 of last season, Chubb has been on the road to recovery.

Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt were not the force that Chubb is for the Browns last season and Ford and D’Onta Foreman won’t be this season. The Browns found out the hard way last season what life was like without Chubb running the football.

Whether it is Week 1 or Week 10, the Browns will welcome Chubb back with open arms and hope that he is close to the player that he was before the injury . Being ready to start the season and participating a ton in training camp could be a surprise at this point.

Who will be the offensive playcaller?

Kevin Stefanski has always kept everything close and quiet when it comes to what the team is doing from an execution standpoint. When the team hired Ken Dorsey to be the offensive coordinator and take over for Alex Van Pelt , the question came about whether or not Stefanski would hand over play-calling duties.

While the offense struggled for Cleveland last year, they won with four different quarterbacks starting and had five quarterbacks make a start in total. Chubb was a big loss to the identity and both offensive tackles were lost, as well as their backups.

Giving up play calling would allow Stefanski to take more of a hands-on role with the rest of the team and it’ll have its benefits. Still, Stefanski got the job because of his work on the offensive side of the football with the Minnesota Vikings and he is an impressive play caller.

Whether or not he gives those duties up, the offense is going to evolve and have new input from the changes that were made. It is all about putting Watson in a position to succeed and getting the most out of the weapons.
