    Man pronounced dead after police alerted to gunfire: Cleveland police

    CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – Cleveland police said ShotSpotter technology alerted them to multiple shots fired on the city’s east side Saturday night and helped lead them to a victim.

    According to police, shortly before 7 p.m., sensors in the city picked up the sound of gunfire and automatically alerted police dispatchers of a location near Woodhill Road and Holton Avenue.

    As officers arrived, they said they discovered a 34-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

    Cleveland EMS then arrived on scene and pronounced the victim dead.

    There has been no word on a suspect or suspects. The Cleveland Police Homicide unit is investigating.
