It is that time of year once again. The time that many of us have been waiting for. Cleveland Browns will begin the process of arriving in Berea today and reporting to training camp.
Today, rookies are scheduled to report to their first NFL training camp. After today, it will be the veterans reporting tomorrow and the team will make the trip to The Greenbrier in West Virginia.
Before we know it preseason games will be here and the season will follow shortly after. Football season is back.
What to watch from the Browns rookies during training camp?
- Defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr . is the leader of the class and has the path to playing the earliest. If Hall can be a well-conditioned player, the Browns could use him in pass-rush packages as soon as Week 1. Even though he is a rookie, Hall’s quick burst in the middle of the defensive line is something the Browns can use.
- Outside of OTAs, Zak Zinter hasn’t really played football since November when he was hurt against Ohio State. The Michigan product is in line to battle for the backup left guard spot behind Joel Bitonio.
- Jamari Thrash may end up primarily a lot guy but with Amari Cooper possibly holding out of training camp, there will be more opportunity for all of the receivers in some way. The rookie, Thrash, could take advantage of this.
The 2024 season for the Browns is all about taking a step forward from a playoff appearance last year despite being very injured. Making a playoff run should now be the focus in Cleveland.
Training camp dates open to the fans
Cleveland will host six free training camp practices for the fans. While those tickets are sold out, the dates will be Aug. 4, 6, 8, 12, 20, and 21. Each date comes with a theme for the training camp day for the fans to participate in . All training camp practices are held at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus in Berea, Ohio.
