3 Cleveland homicides in less than 24 hours

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Three men have died after two separate shootings in Cleveland in less than 24 hours.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, 30-year-old Darrian Bruster and 35-year-old Deshawn Ford were killed in a Friday night shooting.

Cleveland police responded at about 9 p.m. to a report of a man who had been shot in the 2700 block of East 108th Street, according to a Saturday afternoon statement from a police spokesperson. That’s near the Shaker Boulevard intersection.

Police officers arrived to find firefighters treating Bruster, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ford was found in a vehicle nearby and had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was then taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner also reported the death of 34-year-old Eric Grady , who died Saturday night.

Cleveland police said ShotSpotter technology alerted them to multiple shots fired on the city’s east side Saturday night and helped lead them to a victim.

According to police, shortly before 7 p.m., sensors in the city picked up the sound of gunfire and automatically alerted police dispatchers of a location near Woodhill Road and Holton Avenue.

Officers found Grady with gunshot wounds at the scene, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives are now investigating all three homicides. No further information has been released at this time.
