Cleveland Browns made their injury designations known on Wednesday with training camp firing up for the team.

As expected, running back Nick Chubb was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list, as well as multiple others.

Joining Chubb on that list are right tackle Jack Conklin, left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson (knee), and safety D’Anthony Bell (shin). Additionally, the Browns placed running back Nyheim Hines (knee) and cornerback Greg Newsome on the active/non-football injury list.

All of these players can be activated from their injury designation at any time during training camp when they pass a physical. For Chubb, it is unknown when that will be. Things have been very quiet for him when it comes to when a return will happen after the significant knee injury that he suffered in Week 2 last season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Conklin was lost in the 2023 season-opener against the Cincinnati Bengals and is still recovering from the knee injury. Wills being out still with the knee issue that cut his 2023 season short is a bit concerning . Entering his fifth year with the team, Wills is in a contract year he needs to be healthy and consistent if he wants a multi-year contract as his next deal.

Players on the non-football injury list suffered injuries away from the gridiron with the rest of the team. The injury could have happened while training away from the team in the offseason for example.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski will not speak with the media until tomorrow when the team begins their stay at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. Then, Stefanski will be asked for updates on each player. Whenever the Browns can get Chubb back, they’ll be ready with open arms to have him out there. Until then, there is no need to rush him back from such a tough injury.
