It will not be this season or next season, but the Cleveland Browns will eventually be playing football in a new or heavily renovated stadium.

When the lease expires at Cleveland Browns stadium after the 2028 seasons things will be changing in a big way for the team . One option is the team playing in a new domed stadium in nearby Brook Park, or the stadium on Lake Erie will receive a serious facelift.

Just a couple of days after Browns owners gave an update on the stadium, general manager Andrew Berry let it be known where his stance is.

"From a football standpoint, any solution is 'we're two thumbs up'. If you're asking my opinion, we're asking these guys to be athletes, I'd prefer the dome. I'd prefer to be indoors,” explained Berry during his media availability on Monday.

The biggest plus to having a dome is keeping the weather out and having the security of playing on a dry field each and every game. If you have been to a game on the lake in the cold months, you know how tough it can be to last outside the entire game.

“I think that’s better for the team and I also think from being in the Midwest with the elements and everything it is better for our fans as well,” explained Berry. “It creates a better fan experience late in the year when we’re making those playoff pushes.”

The Haslam family will continue to work together with the city of Cleveland , as well as the state government to discuss funding plans for this. If the stadium goes to Brook Park, it is known that the team would be footing most of the bill.

As general manager of the Browns, Berry obviously has no input on where the team is going to be playing. But fans may enjoy the fact that he is siding with the same thing that most of them are, which is only a plus here.
