    Cleveland Browns, WEWS extend relationship to air preseason games, programming

    When the Cleveland Browns kick off the preseason Aug. 10, they will do so knowing that WEWS (Channel 5) will remain the team’s “official flagship station.”

    The team’s preseason home for 10 years announced an extension of their deal for an undisclosed number of years. However, sources say, it is for five years. The renewal includes the continuation of the rights to produce of unique Browns -related programming.

    What programming does the deal with the Browns provide?

    "Browns Countdown," Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

    "Browns Tonight," Sundays after the late news.

    "Browns Countdown Preseason," one hour before each pre-season game.

    "Browns Postgame," airing one hour after each game this season.

    Training camp, draft and other programming are also included.

    • Aug. 10, 4:25 p.m.: vs. Green Bay Packers
      • TV: WEWS (Channel 5); Radio: ESPN 850 AM, 92.3 FM The Fan, 98.5 WNCX.
    • Aug. 17, 4:25 p.m.: vs. Minnesota Vikings
      • TV: WEWS (Channel 5); Radio: ESPN 850 AM, 92.3 FM The Fan, 98.5 WNCX.
    • Aug. 24, 10 p.m.: at Seattle Seahawks
      • TV: WEWS (Channel 5); Radio: ESPN 850 AM, 92.3 FM The Fan, 98.5 WNCX.

    Who are the announcers for Browns preseason games?

    Cleveland native Chris Rose will provide play-by-play games that will provide Nathan Zegura as game analyst. Aditi Kinkhabwala will serve as sideline reporter. Joe Thomas will not be on the broadcast this season .
