Grant proceeds to benefit food bank
At the Monday, July 15, regular meeting of the Love County Board of Commissioners, the commissioners voted to use the proceeds of a $50,000 grant from the Southern Oklahoma Development Authority to benefit the county’s food bank. SODA had funding available to counties affected by disaster and that was made available to Love County through an Emergency Community REAP grant.
Housing Assistance Corp. receives major funding for affordable workforce housing
HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. – July 19, 2024 – In a significant boost to the Apple Ridge Development Project, the Dogwood Health Trust announced on Friday, July 12th, an award of $1M to support infrastructure for the Apple Ridge Subdivision in Henderson County. This funding matches the county’s commitment of $1,500,000 towards infrastructure. Additionally, Dogwood Health Trust has committed $500,000 over the next two years to enhance HAC’s capacity to meet the rising need for safe, affordable workforce housing in its region.
Wofford Graduate Guides Terriers to Legal Connections
This summer, two Wofford students have picked up where they left off last summer. Clayton Hixon ’26, a government major from Jackson, Georgia, and Julio Del Jesus ’25, a government major from Kissimmee, Florida, are back in the courthouse with the Hon. Downtown Greenville pedestrian bridge to close for renovations
Eugenia Duke Bridge over the Reedy River in downtown Greenville will be closed for portions of two weeks for renovations. The work includes replacing the pedestrian bridge’s deteriorated pine deck planks with new Thermo Ash decking. An environmentally friendly anti-slip coating will be added to the deck. The bridge structure will also be repainted.
