The City of Clifton has cancelled the Bosque Valley Club’s annual tractor pull citing safety concerns after several weeks of heavy rain fell across the area.

“Despite the city's best efforts to prepare City Park for the tractor pull, ensuring the safety of everyone involved remains our top priority,” Clifton City Hall said on social media.

City hall noted that Clifton was inundated with 18-plus inches of rain in the month of May alone, increasing the risk of injury and unsuccessful pulls on the oversaturated ground.

“We understand how much this event means to our Bosque Valley Antique Tractor Club community,” a city hall spokesperson said. “We look forward to hosting next year's event! Thank you for your understanding.”
