Thrilling, spectacular rides mark Clifton Rodeo

The award-winning Clifton Rodeo showcased an array of talent and exhilarating performances, bringing excitement and entertainment to the Bosque County community from Friday-Saturday, June 7-8.

The event was marked by impressive scores and swift times, as competitors vied for top honors and cash prizes.

The following is the results of the rodeo events:

Bull Riding

•1st Place:Adilson Junior scored 87.0 points, winning $866.80.

•2nd Place: Dakota Hill scored 84.0 points, earning $709.20.

Barrel Racing

•1st Place: Jordyn Koonsman clocked in at 14.987 seconds, taking home $1,000.27.

•2nd Place: Janet Staton finished at 15.109 seconds, winning $827.81.

•3rd Place: Paige Clayton with a time of 15.152 seconds, earning $655.35.

•4th Place: Liz McManus timed 15.329 seconds, securing $482.88.

•5th Place: Kaela Patterson at 15.330 seconds, winning $310.43.

•6th Place: Katelyn Scott with 15.335 seconds, taking $172.46.

Steer Wrestling

•1st Place: Makenzie Dowell with a blazing time of 2.060 seconds, won $1,284.24.

•2nd Place: Rian Rusinck at 2.180 seconds, earned $1,062.81.

•3rd Place: Kylie Reininger with 2.340 seconds, securing $841.39.

•4th Place: Harley Pryor at 2.600 seconds, taking home $619.98.

•5th Place: Rylie Edens with 2.690 seconds, earning $398.56.

•6th Place: Brookelyn Carter at 2.710 seconds, won $221.42.

Team Roping

•1st Place: Cody Carter and Blake Bentley tied with a time of 4.590 seconds, each winning $1,642.93.

•2nd Place: Peyton Walters and Brandon Gonzales with a time of 4.690 seconds, each earning $1,359.66.

•3rd Place: Mason Rust and Kylar Kanady at 4.720 seconds, both securing $1,076.40.

•4th Place: Kolby Krieger and Nicky Northcott timed 4.910 seconds, each winning $793.13.

Saddle Bronc Riding

Bull Riding

•1st Place: Zach Hibler scored 82.0 points, winning $665.76.

•2nd Place: Kash Loyd scored 80.0 points, earning $443.84.

This year, the rodeo once again operated under the direction of the Hat Brand / Rocking M Rodeo Company.

The 73rd annual rodeo featured the talents of announcer Zane Parker, secretary Courtney Rodell, timers Courtney Rodell and Stephanie Medland, judges John Tom Powledge and Jeff Aubihl, pickup men Shannon Rodell and Mason Gaston, bullfighters Matt Clonge and Ben Thomas, and rodeo clown “Smiley” Todd Pettigrew.

In 2022, the Clifton Rodeo won New Rodeo of the Year from the State Fair of Texas.
