Man arrested with nearly a pound of marijuana in Clinton

A man has been arrested after Clinton Police discovered eight firearms and almost a pound of marijuana at a home in the city, according to a news release from Clinton.

The Clinton Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in the 1200 block of N. Fourth Street on July 17 as a result of narcotics investigations. Officers found over 450 grams (15.9 ounces) of marijuana, THC wax, cocaine and eight firearms, one of which was reported stolen from Clinton.

Daniel Michael Sally Dawson, 25, was charged with:

•        Distribution of cocaine, a class C felony

•        Distribution of marijuana, a class D felony

•        2 counts of failure to affix a tax stamp, class D felonies

•        4 ^th degree theft, a misdemeanor

•        Person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons, a misdemeanor

•        Possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor

Dawson has yet to make an initial court appearance.
