Tornado warning issued for Oneida County Tuesday afternoon
On Tuesday at 3:09 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning in effect until 3:45 p.m. for Oneida County. "At 3:09 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Vienna, or near Camden, moving east at 25 mph," says the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
State of Emergency in Parts of Madison County Due to Storms
ONEDIA, N.Y. -- The Town of Lenox, Village of Canastota and City of Oneida are under a state of emergency due to storm damage. "There are numerous trees down and power outages in our community. Many roads are impassable. Crews are still assessing all of the damage," according to Madison County.

Works Progress Administration (WPA), Work Relief Programs. The Valley View Golf Course is a municipal course located in Utica’s extensive Roscoe Conkling city park. The course was originally built in the mid-1920s, then redesigned by famed golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. with financial aid (and probably workers) from the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
