Storms Target the High Plains
Numerous severe storms tore through the Midwest Monday in the Midwest with tornadoes and a derecho in Chicago. The same system that was responsible for the strong storms throughout Iowa and Illinois on Monday is a slow-moving one, meaning it is also bringing storm chances into areas in the High Plains over the next three days. There is a marginal and slight risk (up to a 2 out of 5) on the threat scale through early Wednesday morning in eastern Colorado, southern South Dakota, and much of the Central Great Plains.

WINDSOR HEIGHTS, Iowa (FOX 9) - A storm sent debris flying into traffic in Windsor Heights, Iowa, on Monday as a tornado moved through the region. Kevin Grimes captured video on his dashcam of the scene while he drove through the storm. Footage of the chaos shows downed trees, damaged street signs, power flashes and captured the sound of tornado sirens.
Magalhaes brings innovation, science to Iowa Pork Industry Center

Investigators did not violate rights in college gambling probe, state says in filing
Attorneys for the state have filed to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the investigation that roiled Iowa collegiate athletic programs and resulted in multiple criminal charges. More than 20 people, mostly student athletes at the University of Iowa and Iowa State University, were accused last year of underage gambling and identity theft, the latter for allegedly using other peoples' online gambling accounts to place wagers on athletic events. Nineteen pleaded guilty and were fined $645 for underage gambling, while six more had their charges dismissed.
