20-year-old Cloquet man kayaks solo around Lake Superior
Cale Prosen has finished a pretty amazing feat. He circumnavigated around Lake Superior in a kayak, alone, returning home on June 22nd. It took him 42 days. The 20-year-old from Cloquet told us he’s feeling good, and it’s a bit of a transition from paddling for so many days to being back at work and with family.

As Duluth gears up for the annual Fourth of July celebrations, the city's iconic Aerial Lift Bridge and the Minnesota Slip Pedestrian Bridge are adjusting their operations to accommodate the festivities. Visitors and residents planning to view the fireworks display should note that the Aerial Lift Bridge will not lift for ship traffic from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm on Tuesday, July 4, as detailed by the City of Duluth, MN Government. The structure, a historical beacon and a symbol of the region’s nautical roots will allow uninterrupted pedestrian and vehicle passage during these hours.
