Tuscaloosa’s Sitar to Open New “Express” Location North of River
It will soon be easier than ever to get the legendary taste of Tuscaloosa's Sitar of India hot to go after they open a new "Express" location north of the Black Warrior River. A spokesperson for the restaurant told the Thread that after 20 years introducing Tuscaloosa to the delights of Indian cuisine, the owners at Sitar are ready to expand and have signed a lease to open a new space in northern Tuscaloosa.
90′s back to school gospel concert happening this weekend
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Birmingham Youth and Young Adult Fellowship Choir is inviting families to enjoy gospel music while getting prepped for the new school year. The choir is hosting a “Back to the 90′s” gospel concert for parents and students in the community. At the event, families will be given free school supplies for the upcoming year. The choir’s founder and director, Ahkeem Lee, says it was originally founded for this purpose almost nine years ago.

Prattville moves to condemn church-owned property for road improvements
PRATTVILLE − The City of Prattville has started condemnation proceedings on three parcels of land to make way for improvements of one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares. The City Council approved the moves during Tuesday night’s meeting. The matter will now go to the Autauga County Probate Court, where a fair market value of the parcels will be decided and the city will pay those prices for the land.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Good Wednesday morning. Fair skies will start off the day with very warm and muggy temperatures in the middle to upper 70s. Some patchy but dense fog will be expected for the morning commute in locations that saw heavy rainfall with yesterday’s storms. Today is looking partly cloudy with some peeks of sunshine boosting temperatures quickly into the upper 80s to lower 90s, the heat index will still hover around 100 degrees before the rain arrives. A cold front is forecast to move across the Tennessee Valley later today and this will trigger scattered to widespread rain showers and storms for the afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, isolated damaging wind gusts and small hail will be expected with any more organized and stronger storms developing later today.
