It will take at least two weeks to clear all the downed trees on area roadways. Director of Public Works for Joliet, Greg Ruddy says city crews have been working through the night to clear debris from roads. Ruddy says if you see a tree on the road in Joliet you can call 815 724-3650. But if the tree is on your property, it’s your responsibly to remove it. Ruddy says there are quite a few trees down, about three times the amount they had following Sunday’s storms. No fatalities from last night’s storm in Joliet but one person died after a semi-trailer went down an embankment on eastbound I-80 at Kedzie.
Burglary And Meth Arrest Made In Ottawa
An Earlville man is back behind bars after finding trouble again. Police in Ottawa on Monday arrested 31-year-old Lynnard Farley at Walgreens for burglary and possession of methamphetamine. Farley appeared in front of a judge Tuesday and the prosecution filed petitions to revoke his pretrial release and drug court terms for 2023 felony charges of dealing meth and theft. Farley is due back in an Ottawa courtroom Wednesday afternoon.

A Joliet couple was evaluating the damage to their home Tuesday morning after taking cover in their basement the night before. Strong winds sheared off countless tree branches and spread debris throughout their neighborhood.

Joliet Fire department responded to approximately 100 call during the peak of last night’s storm. Numerous calls for wires down, tree limbs that had fallen on structures and loss of power to residences. No injuries reported from the storm but a carbon monoxide situation occurred due to a basement generator.
