Yorkville annexes land for future data centers near Eldamain Road
The Yorkville City Council on Tuesday voted to annex and zone two properties that will be marketed for data centers. One property is about 148 acres and is south of the BNSF railway line and southeast of Faxon Road. The other is 138 acres and is east of Eldamain Road and north of Corneils Road. City Administrator Bart Olson says developer Green Door Capital plans to market the properties.

Joliet in the coming years will be pulling their water from Lake Michigan. The groundwater underneath the city is estimated to run out in 2030. In light of the dire situation nearly ninety miles southeast of Belvidere, the Boone County board hired Dan Kane in May to be their water resource coordinator on a part-time basis.
