Softball: Oregon Avalanche 14U team concludes successful summer
OREGON - The Oregon Avalanche 14U travel team wrapped up the season by placing second in the C Division at the USSSA Illinois/Iowa Tournament held in Moline on June 29-30. "The coaches are immensely proud of the hard work and determination that these girls have put into their season,” coach Lynn Kalnins said. “Many balance a full schedule of other sports, activities and school and still commit time to improving their skills on the field. Our organization is not like most of the teams we face at these larger scale tournaments. Most teams play with players from multiple communities that do not continue on to high school together.”

Erb Leads Every Lap In Davenport Deal
DAVENPORT, Iowa — Tyler Erb led flag to flag to win Monday’s XR Super Series late model main event at Davenport Speedway. Erb held off a late charge from Hudson O’Neal to bank the $15,000 victory. It was the 15th win of the season for the DIRTcar Summer Nationals champion.
Intense night of racing at Davenport Speedway
The final night of racing at Davenport Speedway before the Mississippi Valley Fair is usually an intense one, such was the case again this season. For the first time this year, the Outhouse and Storage to Go Container Rentals IMCA Late Model class had a back-to-back feature winner. Evan Miller started in the fourth row and would not see the lead until lap twenty-two of the main. Once in front, Miller pulled away and ended with a 1.323 second advantage over second place Jesse Bodin.
