100th Avenue in Scott County now open
According to a news release from the Scott County Secondary Roads Department, drivers can now fully use 100th Avenue. The northbound lane of 100th Avenue is now open between 130th Street/Chapel Hill Road and 139th Street in Scott County. Crews have finished utility construction in the area and the road was reopened today.

Probable cause found for two to be tried for fatal shooting
A Knox County judge says there’s probable cause for two people to be tried in connection with a fatal shooting a month and a half ago. Knox County Court records indicate Judge Chad Long ruled Monday that probable cause exists to try Chase Houlden, Jr, and Gabriel Moore, both 19, on counts including First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery.

OREGON - The Oregon Avalanche 14U travel team wrapped up the season by placing second in the C Division at the USSSA Illinois/Iowa Tournament held in Moline on June 29-30. "The coaches are immensely proud of the hard work and determination that these girls have put into their season,” coach Lynn Kalnins said. “Many balance a full schedule of other sports, activities and school and still commit time to improving their skills on the field. Our organization is not like most of the teams we face at these larger scale tournaments. Most teams play with players from multiple communities that do not continue on to high school together.”
